I take a lot of time to scout amazing locations all over Sydney and know how they look at different times of year, how the light falls, and how accessible they are. Clients often book with me months in advance to get their dream location at the perfect time. I will send you location recommendations (with sample photos) for your shoot date taking into account how far you will travel, ages of your kids and how the locations will look on your shoot date.

I also do at home newborn shoots where parents prefer, but I don’t have a studio nor do I do studio-style photos as it simply doesn’t fit with my ethos or creative style. There are many photographers who specialise in studio newborn photography who would be a better fit.

I only shoot 1-2 hours before sunset or at sunrise to take advantage of that gorgeous, flattering golden hour light. If you have young kids who go to bed early, keep in mind that sunset times are much earlier in the Autumn and Winter. Parents are always amazed at how long kids can last past their bedtime especially when they are having fun on the beach. Alternatively, wake the clan up early and we can head out for a sunrise session.

I love creating storytelling and lifestyle images, that are real and unposed, but I always make it a point to get a great photo of the family happily looking at the camera, because it makes for a complete gallery. If you expect to have multiple combinations of people all statically looking at the camera, I am not the right photographer for you.

What you wear to your shoot will greatly influence the over all feel of your photos. For example, if you wear dark colours you’ll have dark photos. I share my guidelines of what photographs well, which colour schemes work best and you have access to my client wardrobes for mum and baby. I also give suggestions for rental and retail options for those fabulous maternity gowns.

If you have a vision of what you want for your session or would like to reflect an activity your family enjoys (eg bike riding, surfing, hiking, etc) – I can work with you to make it happen.

The length of the shoot doesn’t influence the price of your package. I shoot until everyone is “done” and don’t want to be photographed anymore. If you’re worried about your babies and toddlers lasting 1-1.5 hours in front of the camera, don’t be. They do so all the time in my sessions because they don’t need to pose. They get to play or snuggle with you instead of going to bed, exactly what their little hearts desire.

I love it when grandparents join a session, capturing these moments is priceless. I just ask that grandparents are styled in advance along with your family, and come ready to interact and play. Please let me know if grandparents have any mobility issues as this will influence your location options.

For furbabies, it’s a good idea to have someone on hand who can look after your pet once we’ve caught some photos with him/her, as there are very few pet friendly beaches and national parks. Having your pet with you for the entire shoot will greatly restrict your location options. I wouldn’t suggest trying to do a family shoot with small children at a dog friendly beach, as this isn’t safe and is likely to end in tears.

Please note, large extended family shoots are classified as small events. Payment of the full Heirloom package is required prior to the session date.

I shoot weddings and engagement parties. This is where my passion lies and how my career started. I love to capture love stories and absolutely pivotal moments in life. Unfortunately, I don’t photograph kids birthday parties, high school graduations or corporate parties. There are photographers who specialise in these types of events and I’m sure you’ll find your perfect fit.

Please note that all events are invoiced and payable up front for a wedding or event package of appropriate coverage.

Payments are made through your personal online gallery. Once you’ve seen all your photos you simply click on the “buy package” button at the top right of your gallery.

No, all my packages include only digital files. You can order prints via your gallery once you’ve purchased your package. For prints, I use Atkins Pro Lab in Melbourne.
